St. Leonard’s spiritual history is deeply rooted in the Christian tradition since it was originally established as a seminary and is still guided by the Gospel values and Franciscan traditions of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio. St. Leonard residents are representative of all faiths. We know one’s spirituality is central to improved health and well being and under girds a strong commitment to community and volunteerism.
The St. Leonard Chapel and bell tower is easily recognizable for its stunning architecture and original art pieces. It stands as a proud welcoming facet of our campus and provides a place of prayer and worship for all Christian denominations. The Health and Rehabilitation Center has its own chapel, The Holy Family Chapel, which provides a similar opportunity for prayer and worship to those who reside there.
A variety of service times and types are available for residents. Our Spiritual Care Office (
morganm@stleonard.net) oversees our Chapels and service schedules.
Spiritual Care Office
The Spiritual Care Department helps residents of all faiths continue to meet their spiritual needs. This is accomplished by offering Catholic and Protestant church services, bereavement support, spiritual listening, prayer groups, Bible Studies, the Sacraments and many other special spiritual celebrations. Over 100 volunteers, many of whom are residents, assist the Spiritual Care staff in this ministry.
